Privacy statement.
What happens to your data when you visit this website or get in touch with me. In plain language.
Last updated:
In short
- This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking.
- The contact form sends nothing itself. Your message goes through your own email app.
- What you send me, I only use to help you. I never sell it.
Who is responsible
The party responsible for your data is MaxiDigital, Max Wurth's sole trader business at Westblaak 7, 3012 KC Rotterdam, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KVK) under number 93489668. That is me. If you have a question about privacy, email me at maxidigital.business@gmail.com.
What data I use, and why
I only use data you give me yourself when you get in touch, by email or phone. For example:
- your name and your company;
- your email address and phone number;
- what you write in your message, such as your website or your question.
I use that data to reply to you, to prepare a proposal and, if we work together, to do the work. Nothing else.
Separately, the web server keeps technical log files. You can read more about that under server logs.
The contact form
The form on the contact page does not send anything itself. When you press the button, your own email app opens with a ready-made message. You see exactly what is in it, and you decide whether to send it.
What you fill in is not sent to this website, and this website does not store it anywhere. I only receive your message once you send the email.
On what basis
Data protection law (the GDPR, known in Dutch as the AVG) says I need a valid reason to use your data. In my case, there are three:
- You ask for it. To reply to you and prepare a proposal, I need your details. If we work together, I need them to deliver what we agreed.
- The law requires it. I have to keep invoices and my records for the Dutch tax authority.
- A legitimate interest. The server logs are there to keep the website secure and working properly.
How long I keep data
No longer than needed. I keep your data for as long as it is needed for the reason you gave it: answering your question, preparing a proposal or doing the work. I keep invoices and my records longer, because the law requires it (the Dutch fiscal retention obligation).
Who I share data with
I never sell your data. I also do not use it for a newsletter or other mailings, unless you give your consent.
I only share data with services I need to do my work, such as Hostinger, which runs this website, and the service I use to send and receive email. Beyond that I share nothing, unless the law requires me to.
Server logs
Like every web server, the server at Hostinger keeps technical log files. They contain details such as your IP address, the time and the page you request. These logs are there for security and to keep the website working properly. I do not use them to track you or to build a profile of you.
Cookies
This website uses no cookies. There are no analytics, no tracking pixels and no embedded content from other parties, such as a YouTube video or a map from Google Maps. The fonts load from this website itself, so your browser does not connect to anyone else for them. The website stores nothing in your browser. That is why you do not see a cookie banner here.
If you follow a link to another website, that website's privacy rules apply there.
Security
This website is static: there is no database, no login and no form that stores anything. So nothing about you is kept via the website, apart from the server logs at Hostinger. I treat what you email me as confidential. I take appropriate measures to protect your data against loss and misuse.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have rights over your own data. You may:
- see what data I hold about you;
- have incorrect data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- object to its use;
- receive your data in a form you can take to someone else (data portability).
Send your request to maxidigital.business@gmail.com. I will respond within the period the GDPR sets for this. Invoices I am required by law to keep can only be deleted once that retention period is over.
Not happy with how I handle your data? Let me know and we will look for a solution together. You can also lodge a complaint with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (opens in a new tab), the Dutch data protection authority.
Changes
If anything changes in how I handle data, I will update this statement. The date at the top of this page shows when that last happened.
